The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule and dates for the Delhi assembly elections. As per the announcementph dream, Delhi will head to the polls on February 5.

Delhi is headed for early elections after AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal stepped down from his role as Chief Minister following his release from Tihar Jail.

What Happened In The Previous Elections?

In both the 2015 and 2020 elections, the Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal secured a majority in the house of 70 constituencies.

However, in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious in Delhi and swept up all seven parliamentary seats. For the 2025 elections, it is a three-way fight between AAP, BJP and the Indian National Congress.

For the 2025 elections, around 1.55 crore people will cast their vote. This vote will also be a crucial one for the incumbent AAP party, which is eyeing its third term in the capital.

As per EC Data, Delhi has a total of 1,55,24,858 voters, of which 83,49,645 are male voters and 71,73,952 female voters. Around 1,261 are third-gender voters. Of the total count, around 24,44,320 senior citizen voters are there in Delhi.
