"It's always tough to play against a player I don't know well, he was playing much better than I was at the beginning," Sinner said.

"I have to be very happy still about my performance, never taking things for granted. I'm very glad to be in the next round.

"At every tournament there is always someone who comes in and plays very well, every round here is very tough."

Sinner will take on Marcos Giron in the third round.
